SwanCon 2013 Artshow
The 2013 committee are happy to announce that the Swancon Artshow will be held at the Ibis Styles Hotel during the convention.
The theme for this year’s artshow is “Perception, Discovery, Emergence: Experiences with the new and imminent”, however pieces not fitting the theme are also welcome.
Entries will be eligible for prizes in a number of categories, including “Judge’s Choice”, “Popular Choice” and “Under 12s”.
Works for sale will be sold via auction slip with a starting bid to be specified by the artist. “Not for sale” works are also welcome.
Each entry will incur a registration fee of $5, except for “Under 12’s” which are free of charge. This fee can be paid on the day of registration at the convention.
Please email artshow-2013@swancon.com.au to reserve space for your pieces. The email should include the title of your work, approx size, display requirements (e.g. mounting) and whether the work will be for sale.
We reserve the right to limit the number of entries per artist to a reasonable amount, however this does depend on the size and nature of the pieces. We also reserve the right to refuse the registration of art that is deemed inappropriate or offensive. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us to discuss the matter.
Liability & Copyright: While we will strive to take care while handling the artwork, Swancon 2013 does not hold responsibility for damaged submissions. It is recommended that the artists observe or assist with their own pieces during the set up and disassembly of the artshow. Photographs and film are not to be taken within the artshow without the express permission of the artists.
