Five questions with Andrew

1). What are you currently reading/watching/playing?
Brian Lumley’s Necroscope series. Rereading for about the 10th time. Recently I’ve been reading more Urban Fantasy like Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid novels and authors like Ben Aaronovich and Richard Kadrey.

Watching:
Elementary, Suits, White Collar, Lost Girl.
I saw Morgan and West: Time Travelling Magicians at the Fringe Festival last night and I really recommend people look them up.

Playing:
Borderlands2 and replaying Portal and Portal 2 working my way through the challenges and some user generated content.

2). When did you start going to SwanCon? Do you have a favourite SwanCon memory or anecdote to share?
I think my first Swancon was in 2002 and I was sharing a room with 4 or 5 people depending on the night.

My favourite Swancon memory would have to be people’s reaction as my partner and I walking in to the Masquerade as Asterix and Obelix. Aside from our costumes we’d also painted up a toy Easter bunny as Dogmatix.

3). Which areas of fandom are you most drawn to? Are there any other events or clubs in which you regularly take part?
I really like spending time with people who are INTO STUFF if that makes sense? I love how so many people in our community will have this thing or topic or hobby that they’re really into and really want to tell people about.
I’m also really into TEDX talks.

4). Who are you most looking forward to meeting at SwanCon 2013? Who would your ultimate dream guest be at a SwanCon?
Charlie Stross has been one of my favourite authors for years and I’m really looking forward to meeting him.

My ultimate dream guest? That’s a hard one…
Probably equally John and Hank Green AKA the Vlogbrothers.

5). Desert island time – you can take one book, one comic, one movie, one TV show and one game with you. What do you pick?
Book: The little book of calm.
Comic: Sandman.
Movie: Pump up the Volume.
TV Show: Dr Who (All of it!!).
Game: Solitaire I guess? :)
